What's Next

In my existing market I have found the best steps to move forward based on feedback. My next steps will be to reach into the UF community and student organizations to help rally school officials behind what I'm trying to accomplish. Also, people believe targeting the Gainesville market is a good move as well. Building up a local following is a big thing interviewees kept bringing up.

Growing in the state of Florida and seeking performance opportunities on campus also came up a lot. Moving to get into the entertainment UF provides is a big next step towards growing my brand.

New Market: Canada would be my new market

I interviewed a Canadian coworker and another friend from online. They both gave me excellent information and ideas on my next steps when coming into the Canadian market. In this new market I would have to have another way to grab the attention of individuals. I believe focusing on the artistry and pushing the strength of being independent would help me get a foothold in the Canadian market.

Canada is very similar when it comes to music. They speak a similar language and enjoy similar music. Americans are slightly different than Canadians though so studying up on the market and learning the slang and little cultural differences would be crucial to succeed in the market. This market may be more attractive because its smaller and you might be to cover it better than a larger market like the US.

  1. Hey James, I think you have some pretty good information here regarding your idea and opportunity. I like the idea of moving the market to Canada, I think talking to some locals and friends from there helps too. I think you know what you want to do and making your market attractive to people will pull an audience in. I too think there are some differences between our culture here and the Canadians. Regardless, great work and good luck on the rest James.

  2. Moving your market to Canada is a great idea James. There's a difference in culture for sure, especially depending on the regions you focus on in Canada. Different regions in Canada are heavily French influenced, so that may be a difficulty. But, I think the Canadians would be interested in this opportunity. You provided some useful details in this new market, great job James.
