Figuring out buying behavior
Need Awareness: The three individual I interviewed all had great times and places when they could see my opportunity as viable. My opportunity is once again to have the University of Florida champion a student artist. Two of my interviewees thought this would be a great need for live performance while the third focused more on personal music listening. The idea that the artist is someone so close also resonated with all three. They believed that someone coming from their university would help boost moral and school pride as well as help set a bar of achievement that many could reach.
Info search: When the interviewees look for a fix to this need they use different media platforms and google to find live events near them. Live performance can be a huge part of the need here and also using music streaming software was also where the interviewees would look for artists they wanted to hear more of.
Findings: I believe the biggest area where this opportunity is prevalent is live performance at the university of Floida. The school is required to spend a certain amount of entertainment every year and why not use that to promote the university's flourishing talent.
Conclusion: I conclude that live performance is a huge key for this aspect of the opportunity.

Hey James! I think that having a famous artist come out of our school would be great! I would definitely support the idea of a particularly exceptional artist being supported by the university. It can be something kind of like the way a a school's star football player is treated. The only problems I see with this is that how does the school select which student to support? Yes it could be through testing however I ultimately believe that the only way the school might rally behind someone would be if the person first became incredibly popular on their own. There are many other problems which can be presented if the school were to suddenly back one artist. Other student's might cry favoritism, while the school may struggle to see the benefit of suddenly adopting one "idol." This is an interesting Idea, however as stated before, I think that the best way for this to happen would be for the person to become renown on their own first, and then after they have already established their own brand, the school may then be more compelled to rally after them. I think this is the best way after all things are considered.
ReplyDeleteHey what’s up James! Again, I do agree with your idea, and I think you are doing a great job of presenting it. One thing I would consider though, is to other universities champion a single artist as well? I think the University of Florida is a very innovative school, but I also believe that Champion a single artist could be controversial depending on the situation. On the other hand, if they have seen other universities do this and be successful at it, I believe they will also follow suit.
