Bug List
1. My roommates keep the apartment way too cold at night and its extremely uncomfortable and hard to get warm!
why: Apparently the roomies just like a cold house, we passive aggressively change the temperature of the thermostat constantly.
2. The computers at my store work terribly slow when you try to log in to western union and the internet.
why: The computers are old and run on outdated software.
3. My microphone I record with records my voice in a way that doesn't sound like me at all.
why: The quality of my microphone is not the best and it could stand to be upgraded.
4. I hate the way my Snapchat makes me look in certain angles, I wish it was more like the actual camera app.
why: I think the app is not necessarily developed for the utmost camera quality but more focuses on sending pictures and fun messages through visuals.
5. The mailing system for goods from Amazon and other shipping places works too slow.
why: Mail takes time to be shipped by trucks and other transporting vessels.
6. The officers who hand out tickets at UF are ridiculous and ticket happy. They hand out tickets for the dumbest reasons.
why: There probably bored during summer and also it's their job. But they literally don't need to be so harsh and aggressive with their ticketing. We're students; give us a break.
7. My computer stutters out and acts strange sometimes when I use my music recording software Logic Pro X.
why: I put a solid state drive in my computer and also my memory has reached nearly its limit which is causing it to act up.
8. My iPhone will randomly glitch out and I will have to hard reboot it just to get it to work again.
why: It's the iPhone X and it has very new software and hardware. There are most likely bugs and internal issues that still need to be addressed.
9. Getting access to my analytics on Apple Music is super inconvenient because they don't have a simple way of accessing it like an application.
why: The service is newer and still in beta and testing, it's underdeveloped and I don't think Apple is focusing too hard on it.
10. My transmission shifts pretty rough sometimes in my 2015 Chrysler 200s
why: The transmission in my year Chrysler is the first of its kind so it has some bugs and kinks.
11. I don't like how challenging it is to get people to organize when they have to get something done that they're doing for free.
why: People usually have their own agendas in mind and when they're doing something that doesn't directly benefit them, they lose interest.
12. I hate having to still communicate through email. Texting is essentially the same thing and it offers more convenience.
why: Email is sadly the most common business correspondence. It's sad to say but if you want to move forward in a career or any job really your going to need to email a good amount.
13. I don't like the way certain acoustics and sound systems sound at venues I perform at like Palominos and High Dive.
why: The sound technicians don't normally play my music and they just do what their used to.
14. I don't like the way Cabana Beach apartments are maintained. The maintenance is slow and no one ever answers the phone so you have to go in to get things done.
why: The company that manages them seems to be run poorly, the place is also run by students and sometimes that isn't the greatest idea.
15. The process of finding all old information for a new job is way to hectic. Having to dig back into files and old transcripts and such is tedious. Their should be one place you can go for all that information.
why: all that information comes from different sources and is spread across different moments in time.
16. The checkout lines at my Publix on main street can be extremely slow.
why: some people have no idea what their doing and they're just slow when they get in line.
17. A lot of people can be mean and unhappy from the first moment you interact with them. They treat staff at Publix like trash.
why: some people are just not raised with the manners to be kind to others or they may have had a tough day or tough life.
18. Cleaning my bathroom constantly bugs me. I don't like having to get on hands and knees to scrub clean dirt and other things that accumulate over time.
why: bacteria and other things constantly build up in areas of constant use such as the toilet and the shower.
19. Things are way to expensive nowadays and gas is steadily going up.
why: Inflation and other reasons cause prices to constantly go up. Also, I'm broke lol.
20. Lazy people bug me. The people that sit on their phones at work, or procrastinate forever on the things that they need to get done are annoying.
why: They don't have the characteristics to work hard I guess.
Reflection: I didn't find this terribly difficult because we do live in an imperfect world. I think the thing I found most challenging was just trying to remember if the bug was inconvenient enough to make the list. We will always find things that we are not necessarily satisfied with but we adapt and learn to live with those things.

Dear James. We had a of similar things that bug us. I realize now I probably should have written about my crappy apartment situation too! That would have made my last five or so "bus" much easier. passive aggressive roommates and poorly maintained apartments plague college students everywhere. I feel like complexes like Cabana pray on college student because we often aren't in a position to complain to the office every day in order to get something done. They also know (because we are in the cheapest apartments around) that we have no choice where we are living so they take advantage of it by making us wait forever to get anything done. I live across the street at the Pavilion and they made me wait over a month to get a broken window fixed.
ReplyDeleteHey what’s up James! I think you made some valid points throughout your bug list. Some of them I completely relate with, although I did not have them on my list. The one that I can really relate to was number 18 where you talked about cleaning the bathroom. Although I know how essential and important it is to clean our bathrooms, I never enjoy it! Like you said, being on your hands and knees scrubbing dirt off the floor, as well as working with so many chemicals bothers me! Also, since I can’t see, sometimes I have to do things twice to make sure I don’t miss anything. That can definitely be annoying! This list for me at some points was a little difficult, because sometimes it’s hard to look at things in a critical light. I am more of an optimist.
